The National Association for the Education of Young Children is the leading force in quality Early Childhood Education. New research on the importance of early development and learning as well as the role of highly qualified programs and teachers in promoting positive outcomes for children, makes it imperative that early childhood programs adhere to the highest quality of proven standards.

NAEYC accreditation involves a yearlong program-study that includes researching, assessing and improving criteria within 10 Program Standards, which include:

Relationships: promotes positive relationships among all children and adults encouraging each child’s sense of individual worth and belonging.
Curriculum: promotes learning and development in each developmental domain: social, emotional, physical, language, cognitive.
Teaching: promotes developmentally appropriate teaching approaches that enhance each child’s learning and development.
Assessment of Child Progress: formal and informal assessment approaches provide information on child’s learning and development. Reciprocal communications with families regarding assessments promote solid understanding of child’s progress.
Health: promotes safety and health of children and protects children from illness & injury.
Teachers: employs degree Early Childhood Education teachers committed to continuous education that focuses on children’s learning and development.
Families: establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with families fostering development of children.
Community Relationships: establishes relationships with and uses resources of the school’s community.
Physical Environment: provides a safe, appropriate and learning-rich indoor and outdoor physical environment.
Leadership & Management: implements policies, procedures and systems that support a stable staff and strong personnel, fiscal and program management for high-quality expectations and experiences.
